Windows 10: Windows 11 handwriting-panel text does not appear in text fields

When I tap my HP Spectre with an HP MPP 2.0 pen, the handwriting panel appears and I can write there the text is recognized, but nothing gets visible in the actual text field I want the text to be - browser search bar, text document and other inputs. They stay clean regardless of what I write in the touch panel.I searched similar posts here, but seems like this is a new issue. Some comments suggest checking options like:- Check if the Show handwriting panel when not in tablet mode and there's no keyboard attached option is On. - Try also to Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service is se

Handwriting panel disabled on certain fields

I am using the Creator's Update of Windows 10 on a New Surface Pro. In most cases I am able to use the handwriting panel in my applications to enter text. However, with some applications there are certain fields in that application where only the touch
keyboard is available and the handwriting panel is disabled. Is this a setting that the application developer configures or can I change it myself?

 

Windows 11 Pro - Handwriting Panel Not Passing Input to Field

I have a Surface Pro 7+ and a surface pen with Windows 11 Pro running. The handwriting panel comes up as it is supposed to and recognizes my handwriting appropriately, but it does not transfer the recognized handwriting into the application.

I've tried a handful of applications (onenote, word, notepad) as well as native W11 input fields. The direct entry feature works for windows fields and some apps (W11 search fields, notepad, etc.) but it does not work through the handwriting panel.

Any thoughts?

I'm also having the same issue with the Lenovo YOGA laptop with Windows 11 and Office 365.

The issue started on the most recent system update. Before this update, the handwriting to text functionality using the handwriting panel worked perfectly fine.
