Windows 10: Windows 11 Hard Hangs Constantly

Hello everyone, I had Windows 11 running for 6 monthsnew build August 2023, no issue. Friday night 1/26/24 worked for several hours gaming, streaming, you name it, Saturday morning and ever since, entire OS freezes where manual power cycle is only solution. I checked for recent updates at the time, hadn't seen anything in Windows updates or GPU updates. Hadn't installed any software in over a week or two prior. Hardware:i5 13600KF32 GB Corsair Ram 2x16MSI Z790A Pro Wifi Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 2 TB Samsung M2 980 w/ Heatsink I think?Thermaltake 750W PSUI initially tried all the basic

• Were there any changes made on your computer before this issue came up?
• What are the troubleshooting steps you have done so far?

Hard Drive constantly at or near 100% read/write

Thanks for the suggestion. I see very little activity in the Network tab. I hope this helps.

 

Windows update hangs

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand the Visual C++ updates are updating constantly number of time again and again. We will help you.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Press Start and type Programs and features.
• Select all the listed programs with the Microsoft Visual C++
  and Uninstall them.

If restart is prompted Suggest you to restart. If not, after the Uninstall is done
Go ahead and check for the updates in Windows Updates and install the updates for Microsoft Visual C++
and check if the issue persists.
