Windows 10: Windows 11 has my account and 2 local accounts, how do I use OneDrive with them effectively.

I had a Windows 10 computer that died, and OneDrive on all profiles that were logged in to my account.With my new Windows 11 computer, I created the Admin account logging into my Microsoft account. Then I created two local accounts did not log them into any Microsoft account for my kids. When i logged into each of their profiles/local accounts, Windows suggested I set up OneDrive. I logged each local account into OneDrive using my Microsoft account. Nothing of theirs from my old computer showed up.However, I quickly noted that their desktops were getting MY shortcuts and things.They are

Yea, I would create a local account and just use your school account to login to Outlook and Onedrive.

I was thinking of doing that, but it will be a PITA setting everything up on the 2nd account again. I might go that way and just spend the time getting the account in order.

The problem is, I would need to switch at the start of every day. Extra reset and waiting for the settings to be applied etc. Also, I'm not sure whether one drive would be maintained after switching back to a local account. I wouldn't want to have to re-sync every time I logged in. I may have to do some testing to see if onedrive is maintained after switching back to a local account.

 

Local account installation question

I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are

• Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
• No Internet connection during the install
• static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)
