Windows 10: Windows 11, Headphones Left channel and Right channel cannot be independently controlled

Using Sony WH-1000XM3's connected via BluetoothBluetooth Core Specification 5.2, via What Bluetooth version is on my PC? microsoft.comOriginally I was having trouble getting stereo sounds on the headphones working at all they worked perfectly in Windows 10, but they magically started working now. Tested this by going to the control panel sounds settings. In this screen, moving the Left/Right channel cannot be done independently, probably a bug?

How would I split left and right audio in Windows and handle as independent channels?

I want to handle the left and right stereo channels as if they are totally separate and independent paths. For example, most Bluetooth speakers have speakers for both channels in one cabinet, and the output is through one Bluetooth connection.

I want to be able to have two independent, single-channel speakers, each with a separate Bluetooth connection, each handling one of the stereo channels, and direct the left channel to one and the right channel to the other.

Is there a way to do this in Windows?

When you say channel, do you mean disabling any particular channel or balancing audio stream to only one particular channel?

For the latter, this should be what you need:

• Right click on Start > Control Panel. Now click on 'Hardware and Sound'.
• In the 'Hardware and Sound' dialog box that appears, click on 'Sound'.
• Once you click on 'properties', you will see a 'Speakers properties' dialog as shown above. Now click on 'levels' tab, and click on 'Balance' button as shown above. Once you click on 'Balance', you will see a dialog box to adjust the volume of left and
  right speakers. You can adjust the volume of individual speakers by moving the sliders of L or R.
  

The above system will impact overall sound output of Windows, irrespective of the media player you use.

Are you using a different version of Windows? Your instructions do not fit with what I see on my Win 10 screen. See below.

The signal is on the left channel and there is only noise on the right channel. I do not primarily want to adjust the levels, I want to swap the channels left -> right. Closing down the left channel then would be a marginal improvement.
