Windows 10: Windows 11 High Definition Audio doesn't recognize headset, and Realtek drivers mic input...

I have an Acer Nitro 5 gamer laptop AN515-53 model, just reset the computer and clean reinstalled Windows 11. I can use either the Realtek drivers or the generic Windows High Definition Audio. I have tried several versions of Realtek and still have the following problem.- With the Realtek drivers, the PC detects a device connected to the jack and asks if it's a headphone, headset etc. But the mic input is extremely low, no matter what mic I am using either the headset or the built in mic. Computer won't recognize headset microphone

This is what i see in device manager. Im not sure if the Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) is the one your saying to disable, as that is what is default in playback devices in the sounds panel.

Setting Stereo Mix as the default recording device and disabling everything else still didnt get the mic working, even when the headset is plugged into the microphone only audio port or the mic + sound audio port.

 

I been having trouble with the volume in the mic settings. I tried all I know please help.

This is the three devices that are under the "Sounds, video, and game controllers" tab:

• AMD High Definition Audio Device
• CyberLink Webcam Virtual Drivers
• Realtek High Definition Audio

Under the "Audio input and output" tab:

• Mic in at front panel (black) (Realtek High Definition Audio)
• Microphone (Realtek High Definition Audio)
• Realtek HD Output 2nd output (Realtek High Definition Audio)
• Speaker/HD (Realtek High Definition Audio)

I use microphone headset to talk to people while playing an online game. The program I use is "Ventrilo". I tried the steps you posted and the mic volume is still muting automatically.

 

Laptop not splitting headset mic & audio?

Simple version. When i plug in my headset to my laptop windows10 is not splitting it into one output and one input.

I fixed this years back by setting the popup box 'whats plugged in' from headphone to headset. Then it split the audio and mic. However i had to reinstall windows and now when i select headset it just mutes my laptop mic and audio manager just shows the one mic, but two audio outputs.

It was working before the reset and i have tested the headset on another computer and it is working find.
So far i tried device manage audio driver install, for both Realtek driver and High Definition driver but either resolve the issue.

Any suggestions why windows would pick up one and not the other?

I currently have it set to headphone plugged in so that i can use my laptop mic, but ive been told i sound really bad *Sad
