Windows 10: Windows 11 Home login password protection, and user surly nonsense.

Win 11 home on my new PC Lenovo--game PC from Costco is a retrograde OS product! I tried to change my startup to no PW, or PIN, and now it's a mess in my secure home, zero need for such overt PW protection. Now, startup ~dialog: 'The PW is incorrect' I entered nothing at this point, so I then enter my 'Live' PW, and get in. The pin went away for startup, and now is needed for changing a PW! Why can't MS simply allow for me to open Win 11 without ANY login, as with Win 10--a better OS. BTW, It's Win 11 home, for heaven's sake, home, not business! Again: I deleted the PIN requirement, so

I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

• Are you referring to BIOS password as Boot password?
  
• Is it a login password which you are referring when Windows starts?

If Login password, provided you are using Local Account on Windows 10 you may follow the below steps:

• Press Windows + R keys to open Run command
  
• Type " control userpasswords2 "
• Select the account and uncheck "user must login with password"
• Select apply and Ok.

If Boot password you may have to contact your computer manufacturer.

Unknown user account at windows 10 login screen

I have the same issue but I have 11 users and now on the log in screen I have 11 user names and 11 of the "password" with the "key" next to them. So, that's 22 logins on the lock screen. The "password" logins are actually the users. I am trying to get rid
of the "password" tabs so only my user names show on the login screen. I checked for the registry folder you mentioned and it is not in the list.

Any other suggestions?

 

No login password craziness

Brink, that was the missing step. What threw me off was in netplwiz, where it asks about password for my MS account, the user name was not the same as my MS account name. Once I entered the password (twice) I can now login without entering a password. In fact the name that was listed was not the MS account name, but a folder name. The folder is the one that shows when you click on C:\Users.
