Windows 10: Windows 11 Home: Unable to run nested VMs in VMWare Workstation due to Hyper-V conflict

Hi,I got a new laptop came with Windows 11 Home. I installed VMWare Workstation Pro to run eve-ng and GNS3 netsed VMs. However, it doesn't start.I have been struggling to get it running. I tried almost all the methods mentioned in many forums and youtube. I tried disabling core isolation, disabling VBS, turning off features and stopping / disabling Hyper-V services to no avail.This is the current state of my systeminfo outputVirtualization-based security: Status: Not enabled App Control for Business policy: Enforced App Control for Busine

I cannot enable the nested VT-x/AMD-V to both VMWare Workstation and Virtualbox using Windows 11 Pro.

Thank you for posting in the community.

To enable nested virtualization for VirtualBox or VMware Workstation, Hyper-V need to be disabled on Windows. Please open Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt as administrator, run bcdedit and make sure hypervisorlaunchtype is set to Off. If not, run

then restart the computer.

If the above step doesn't work, you might need to enable nested virtualization manually. For VirtualBox, you can use the VBoxManage command

Since these are third-party virtualization software, it's also recommended to contact Oracle/VMWare to confirm how to set up nested virtualization.

 

VMware Workstation and Hyper-V on same machine

That doesn't quite look like what I'm asking to see.

Yiu've got 2 VM's both running with HYPER VM -- there's not a problem usually running "nested" VM's.

What I want to see as I showed in my screen shot a VM running directly from VMWare and then another one at the same time running directly from HYPER-V -- Networking / other issues can always (hopefully) be resolved later -- but the essence of what I'm trying to say is that I want to see 2 independent VM's running under their own (separate) VM systems rather than using a "nested VM" technique.

However I might have mis-understood the diagram though.

I get an error ie,"vmware workstaion and hyper v are not compatible. remove the hyper v role from the system before running vmware workstation

while running VMware workstation I get an error disable Hyper v role before running VMware workstation.
