Windows 10: -Windows 11: importing Data from source Windows explorer directory file to excel

Hi can anyone help please. I have windows 11 and am trying to import data from the source windows explorer folder named music :setup as Name/ Title/ #/ Contributing artist/ Album? Length/ Size/ Type eg MP3 I found Karl Timmermans answer to another query which helped how to load the data text from the source file into excel however when i do this it only adds fields i dont want eg "when the data was last accessed", "file source". I would like to know how to keep the headings as they are in the source folder?? Can anyone assist pleaseGratefully JT

Set up a Network Directory a an ODBC Data Source for Excel Files

I have a folder on a network drive in which I download Excel files produced by other reports and "data dumps."

These Excel Files are used, in turn, by my own reports. sometimes connecting to them by MS-Query.

What I would like to do is set this directory up as an ODBC Data source, so I can navigate to it and then select the Excel file as I would a table from another database.

I know that it is possible to set up a directory as an ODBC source for text files and I've done that in the past.

I doubt that it is possible to set up a directory as an ODBC source for Excel Files, but I have to ask. It would be just too convenient to do this .

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
