Windows 10: Windows 11 Indexing Is Paused But Still Running in Background, Constant CPU Usage

Inside of Indexing Options, the number of items indexed continues to increase yet says that indexing is paused:Indexing never finishes, eventually just stopping itself sometime after 100,000 items out of roughly 600,000 items. Even after stopping, Windows Search Filter Host takes up between 1-3% CPU until I manually disable the Windows Search service:I have already read tons of forums and already tried these:Run the indexing troubleshooterRestart Windows Search serviceDelete and rebuild indexing libraryChange battery mode settings/respect my power settingsDelete and disable Outlook and OneD

Indexing is pausing Automatically

We have found issue with the indexing in Windows 11.

Indexing has been paused automatically.

Already checked the following steps.

1) Troubleshoot Search & indexing issue by Windows Troubleshoot

2) Restarted Windows Search Service in services.msc

3) Restarted & Updated

After these steps the system index for an while.

But It will pause automatically after a while.

Please help me to find a solution.

Issue show on almost all Windows 11 PC which is recent upgraded from Windows 10 Home version.

i managed to solve this issue (indexing is paused automatically) by doing the following steps:-

1. check if you have any "weird" windows update file "Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5004567) or Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5004567)" or etc & you can't find it in the microsoft update catalog installed in your windows 11 device

2. If yes, remove it

3. Reboot device (If after reboot, still not working, then rebuild your indexing)

 

Windows 10 CPU Usage

If your system is at rest and CPU usage is alternating about 10% that would not be that unusual if there are applications running in the background, if you press Ctrl + Alt + Del to open Task Manager, click on CPU column header so the arrow is facing down,
the top processes listed are the ones using your processor.

If any of them are not necessary, click on the startup tab and disable them if they appear in the list there.

10% is a bit high, ideally 0 - 2% if the Windows Indexing service is not currently running . . .
