Windows 10: Windows 11 installation assistant, error code 0x80072efd

Using the Windows 11 installation assistant upgrading from Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19045, it just spins at 0% completion for a while, then gives me the error code 0x80072efd. Looking online, people mentioned it was most likely an ISP issue. However I've attempted this at 3 different locations now all with different ISPs, and I still get the same error.I've tried several other suggestions, clearing my DNS cache, resetting the Windows Store, etc. However none of those seem to have any effect either.Please help!

If you are using proxy to connect internet please disable that, refer to the steps below to disable proxy:

• Press “Windows Key” + “R”.
• Type “inetcpl.cpl”.
• Go to Connection.
• Click on LAN Settings.
• Check the box which says Automatically detect settings.
• Uncheck the box under Proxy server.

Unable to open Windows Store: The error code is 0x80072EFD

I have the common problem with the store with the above error code.

I have done some of the steps listed in other threads. I cannon find these threads again as Searching is extremely difficult in windows 10 as there is no browser history.

Can anybody suggest how to fix it beyond the basic steps?

Running "Type wsreset.exe and press Enter." did nothing or didn't work.

Another step listed was to check the latest video card driver. How is this done in Windows 10?

How do you drill down to internet/advanced options in windows 10? Again very easy in previous version, very difficult in windows 10.

Edge - does not update - error code 7: 0x80072EFD — system level

Yesterday and today I have been trying to update Edge. Both on VM and host, the 'Check for updates' runs for a while (checking) but ends with an error. " An error occurred while checking for updates: Unable to connect to the Internet. If you use a firewall, please allow list MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe. (error code 7: 0x80072EFD — system level). " Disabled Microsoft Defender firewall : makes no difference The MicrosoftEdgeSetup.exe can not connect with Internet, however, everything is in order.
