Windows 10: Windows 11 Intel NUC as a acces control server with remote desktop

HiGENERAL INFO:I am an acces control installer and we always place a Intel NUC or comparable Windows PC at the client.In the Bios I enable it to reboot after a power outage.On this PC runs the acces control software wich monitors everything that is happening with the door controllers.We also install Anydesk so we and the client can always reach the pc from anywhere without having to go to the basement and hook up a monitor.QUESTION:Sometimes in the past we had to go to the client becouse we couldn't log in anymore.When we hooked up a monitor we were greeted with a windows background asking a c

AutoPlay via a Remote Desktop connection not working

Hi there,

I am having trouble with AutoPlay when connecting using Remote Desktop.

I have 2 intel nucs connected. 1 Nuc (say A) controlling the other (say B) over Remote Desktop on a lan. If I connect a card reader into the B computer, watching via remote desktop nuc A, auto play is not working when plugging in a card reader with compact
flash card.

I can goto explorer on nuc B & open Explorer, right click on the card & select AutoPlay & the associated software correctly opens. however it requires this manual step, so not working really.

any ideas. i used to use ymultiplicity to remote access & had no problems so i think it is related to Remote Desktop. i have explored much on-line but no luck.

- Were you able to upgrade to Windows 10 successfully?

I suggest you to refer the below steps and see if this helps.

• 
  Enable remote desktop in settings
  
  • Control Panel\System and Security\System, Click "Remote Settings" on the left side
• 
  Verify my port forwarding settings were properly forwarding to my computers local IP address
  
  • run "cmd.exe" and then type "ipconfig". Find your IP from that list

• Make sure your firewall settings are open
• Go to "Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall\Allowed apps"

• On the left, click "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall"
• Click "Change Settings"
• Find "Remote Desktop" in the list and make sure both "Private" and "Public" is checked.
