Windows 10: Windows 11 Intermittent crashing/seizing

Hello team,I have been experiencing sporadic freezing when doing any type of worklow-high intensity where I am no longer able to interact with the OS UI and have to perform a hard reboot each time. This wasn't an issue until the past two updates. Most recent update being KB5027119. My main OS is Pop-OS, but I have to use Windows since my Cloud certification testing doesn't support Linux. The issue is, I had to sit out of an exam because Windows decided to freeze during my test, but luckily, they allowed me to retake it. I can't have this being a possibility anymore since I have another one c

Windows 11 keeps seizing and crashing

Dear DaveM121:

I don't really know what happened...we uninstalled Windows 11 and re-installed Windows 10, hoping to get back to something that worked. At first the Windows 10 re-install was doing exactly the same thing that Windows 11 was doing - seizing and crashing. We thought this was a hardware issue, and pretty much concluded we had lost a computer...funny thing though, the gaming still worked presumably because the games used our Nvidia game card, it never did seize when we were running a game.

As it happens my son was tinkering with the BIOS which he does not do lightly, we got a funny message on re-starting that some sort of fix was being applied. Don't know if it came from Microsoft or not, but from that point on this computer has worked like a charm. No seizing no crashing...I presume it must have been some setting between the new SSD and the motherboard [that is where we surmised our hardware issue lay], but whatever it was it was like we now had a new computer; what we thought was lost, has been found!

Microsoft:

We have done everything! Updates are all installed, drivers have all been updated, we have run the system file checker, but Windows continues to seize and crash. We are down to examining the Event Viewer to see if there are any insights to be gained there and concluded that whatever it is, a bug in Windows 11 or whatever, it is over our heads! Please help!

I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
