Windows 10: Windows 11 is not recognizing my camera for Windows Hello.

Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 5579 and I have been trying to get Windows Hello to work for months. The laptop has an IR camera for Hello, but Windows just recognizes it as just a normal camera. My main camera still works fine, but when I switch cameras to the IR one, the picture is grey and black and there's a red flashing light next to the physical camera.I tried downloading all of the latest drivers for my laptop, but they didn't help windows recognize the camera as an IR one. I even tried disabling the camera in device manager and then restarting my computer, but that didn't help either. Bo

Windows hello can't recognize camera

Windows hello cannot recognize my camera so I cannot use face recognition login. I tried to connect USB camera with the same result. What’s your suggestions?

 

We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner/camera Windows Hello

Hello,
I'm experiencing some issues while trying to enable the Windows Hello login via camera and fingerprint.
Basically I have this Windows 10 21H2 joined to a domain, and using administrative creds I've enabled the registry keys to enable Windows Hello and PIN login.





Unfortunately I'm not able to use the Hello camera or fingerprint despite the device is Windows Hello compatible (HP Elitebook G8).
I've tried all the suggestion reported on the tutorials but still no luck, I have the error:

We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with windows hello fingerprint

On both camera and fingerprint. Both devices are recognized properly via devmgmt.
Do you have any suggestion?

Elecom Windows Hello Face Camera

I tried everything suggested and nothing helped. Today I installed the new Windows 11 22H2 update, and when it was finished Windows informed me that Windows Hello Face Recognition was available. Sure enough, the camera was recognized by Window Hello and I was able to set it up. It now works just fine. Another Windows mystery that will never be solved.
