Windows 10: Windows 11 is not recognizing my TV as an audio device when connecting my laptop to the TV...

After a recent update my laptop stopped recognizing my TV as an audio device. HDMI transmits picture but no sound.I'm running Windows 11 Home 10.0.22631 on an Acer Nitro AN515-53 with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050.I've already updated Windows 11 and all drivers.I've already checked the default audio device and the audio output, the TV does not show up.The TV is not muted.I've already tried disabling audio enhancements.I've already switched out the HDMI cable.I don't have another HDMI port.

I am trying to connect my Windows 11 laptop to a TV. The display is working fine but the audio isn't working at all. The HDMI cable and TV work perfectly with other laptops. My Laptop also won't recognize any other HDMI device. My laptop does not recognize my TV as an audio output at all. It doesn't appear in the device manager or sound settings. I have already tried rebooting, restarting the Windows audio services, and checking the bios for any weird HDMI sound settings.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Update audio drivers: Go to the manufacturer's website for your laptop and download the latest audio drivers for your specific model. Install the drivers and restart your laptop.
   
2. Check default audio device: Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings." Under the “Output” section, make sure your TV is selected as the default audio device. If it's not listed, try connecting the HDMI cable while the TV is turned on and see if it appears.
   
3. Enable audio output: Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings." Scroll down to the "Advanced sound options" section and click on "App volume and device preferences." Make sure the TV is not muted and the volume is turned up.
   
4. Disable audio enhancements: Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings." Under the “Output” section, click on "Device properties." Go to the “Enhancements” tab and check the box next to "Disable all enhancements." Click Apply and see if the audio starts working.
   
5. Test with different HDMI cables: Try using a different HDMI cable to connect your laptop to the TV. Sometimes, faulty cables can cause audio issues.
   
6. Try different HDMI ports: If your laptop has multiple HDMI ports, try connecting to a different port on your laptop and see if the audio works.
   
7. Update Windows: Make sure your Windows 11 is up-to-date with the latest updates. Go to Settings > Windows Update and click on "Check for updates."

Laptop not recognizing TV through HDMI connection

Hello everyone!

First I do apologize if this is not the correct section for this thread.

I've had issues connecting my laptop to TV for the past day. Connection is done through an HDMI cable. Connection was good up until it randomly turned off itself while playing a game. There have been no hardware or software changes whatsoever that would affect it.

TV is SAMSUNG, Model: UE32J4000AW. Laptop info is available in My PC Specs. (laptop is brand new, week or two old)

Here's what I've tried so far:

• 3 different HDMI cables
• switching between ports on TV
• tried all projection options on Laptop
• Disable / Enable both Intel and Nvidia drivers
• Rollback Intel GPU driver and installed it back to latest version
• Re-installed Nvidia driver
• Restarted PC and TV
• Scan for hardware changes through Device Manager
• Checked Intel and Nvidia control panels - there were no available options
• Apparently both HDMI ports on the TV work as I tried them with a tv box.

I think that's all I've tried so far, will add anything else if missed. Open to suggestions.
