Windows 10: windows 11 is showing labels of apps on the taskbar

It has been happening for a while and it is really bugging me now. could someone help to fix the labels of the apps showing on the taskbar.

I understand Microsoft for Windows 11 has brought back a feature to "never combine" or "combine only when the taskbar is full. I found this article.

I don't have the feature. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I open many browsers that I leave up, and the process is maddening & slow.

You may try the steps listed below and check if it works:

• Right click a blank area on the taskbar and choose
  Taskbar Settings.
  
• Under Combine Taskbar Buttons, choose
  Always, hide labels.
  
• Exit Settings.

Some apps do not show labels on taskbar when the windows does not have focus?

It used to be that the taskbar button for a running app included a text label and the taskbar buttons for apps that were not running did not include label text. Now some apps only show label text on the taskbar when the app window has focus. Is there a fix for this? I used to be able to tell if an app was running by glancing at the taskbar. Not being able to do this is very annoying. Is there a fix? Thanks.
