Windows 10: Windows 11 jumplist extremely slow.

My jumplist for all the programs pinned on my taskbar is extremely slow. I'm running a new Windows 11 22H2 laptop.All Office app and also other apps are affected.I tried deactivating the flag in Settings > Personalization > Start > Turn On the switch against Show recently opened items in Start, Jump Lists, and File Explorer. This way the jumplist is fast but of course empty. As soon as I reactivate the flag, the jumplist is slow again. I use the jumplist a lot both for pinned items and history. For now I first activated the flag, pinned the documents and deactivated the flag. Of cour

Jumplist sometimes extremely slow

I bought a new laptop with Windows 10 recently.

Only after a few days, the jump lists started to get extremely slow.

But they behave that way just for a while, then they work as they should again.

When slow, it takes several minutes for the jump list to appear. It is extremely annoying. Especially e.g. when I have opened a remote desktop and want to open another one via the jumplist.

I had exactly the same problem with my old Windows 7 PC and assumed that I would get rid of that problem,
changing both PC and OS, but no.

I do not want the standard answers to this problem:

- Disable Aero

- Clear the (Explorer) Cache for Jump lists

- etc.

It is definitely something else. I mean, how would the jump list cache get full after only a week? And why does the jump list get slow only sometimes and then suddenly works just fine again?

So please, give me an answer that takes this into consideration.

There might be damaged system files that causes this one to happen. We recommend that you do the following steps to perform diagnostics scans on your computer in an attempt to isolate and resolve the issue:

Method 1:

System file checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Run system file checker (SFC) and see if it helps. Please follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows + X keys and click command prompt (admin).
  
• 
  Type the following command in command prompt and press Enter.
  

sfc /scannow



If it does not help, use method 2.

Method 2:

Run DISM tool and check the issue. Please follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows + X keys and click command prompt (admin).
  
• 
  Type the following command in command prompt and press Enter.
  

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Jumplist sometimes extremely slow

I deactivated all services but the Microsoft services and then activated them again systematically and, lo and behold, the BOINC-manager was the culprit.

I have now tried several times to stop that service and then start it again. Each time I start the BOINC-service, after a while the jumplists starts to lag. Then, each time I stop the service, the jumplists starts immediately to function normally again.

I had lost faith in ever getting this problem fixed. Thanx so very much for the help!
