    Periodic pinkish flash about every three seconds. Screenshot does not capture flash. Have not tried to rollback KB5035942.

    System menus in some applications even in windows component are unreadable due to small font after restart

    after several restarts fonts are back in original size

    Could this be caused by failed installation of?

    Hi. I keep getting Install Error - 0x80188309 when trying to install 2024-03 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5035942) on an HP Spectre x360 running Windows 11 version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.2861).

    I worked extensively with HP support, but they were unable to resolve it after trying many solutions. They suggested I could either reinstall the operating system (which I just did last week for a different error, and it's incredibly time consuming to reinstall apps and get my system back to baseline, so I'm reluctant to do it again) or contact Windows Support.

    What else can I do?

    Windows update KB5035942 installs every day

    Windows update KB5035942 was successfully installed on my Windows 11 PC as a Quality Update on Mar 27, 2024. Sometime after that I began seeing it recorded as successfully installed as Other Updates, and it appears to be successfully installed as Other Update every day. Sometimes my PC crashes during the night (black screen of death, requiring a hard start to use the PC), but not always.
