Windows 10: Windows 11 keeps resetting my default application preferences when I restart.

Hellver the last couple weeks, I've noticed that my PC's default apps have reset to the "factory standard". I recently had an update I believe, so I'm not surprised when this happens. I change them back, end of story.But now I notice that every day after I have restarted my computer, when I open Google Chrome, which is my preferred web browser, it says it is no longer my default. And then I noticed the same was happening with other defaults, such as video and photo apps. I'm not sure which update it was and do not think I should have to roll back one by one, test, restart, and go again. Is

Windows keeps RESETTING default applications

Win10, consistently resets my default application settings to what Win10 prefers, not what I use.

It is getting really annoying having to frequently reset my default application settings.

Do tell me HOW TO SET MY DEFAULT applications, I KNOW HOW TO DO THAT.

Tell me how to stop Win10 from hijacking my settings and reverting them to default settings.

In the meantime, you can also try the steps below and check if it will work:

1. Perform a clean boot.
It will start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. Also, it helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program, or an update, or when you run a program in Windows.

2. Once done, try to set again your preferences for videos and picture files.
