Windows 10: Windows 11 keeps reverting name back to old one after rename

HiI am using a Legion Pro 5 laptop and I have an issue renaming the Windows account. I've tried several options.1. Change account name is missing from Manage account, so this doesn't work.2. The name in the Microsoft account web is changed, but not in the log in information.3. I've change the name using run writing netplwiz or lusmgr.msc - but both fails. I am able to change the name and after signing out it works. However, after logging in the name reverts back to the old one. I would be glad if someone can help me with this.

• Are you having troubles signing in to your computer or the name just reverts to the old one but still lets you sign in?

Folders name reverting to old name when being copied

My home PC is Windows 10 and all updates applied. The only change I've done is creating a new user profile for work to avoid having having work files and work VPN settings in my home/admin profile. For some reason, when I rename a folder and then copy or move it to a new directory, the name reverts to the old one. For example,

I have Folder 1 on the desktop and inside is a folder called ABC. I rename ABC to XYZ and copy it into Folder 2. When in Folder 2, the copied folder keeps the old ABC name and not the new XYZ.

How can I solve this as it's making working from home very annoying since I have to move a lot of files from my computer to the work server and checking the names all the time is a PITA?

We appreciate you getting back to us. To change the cmd name, we suggest that you follow this steps:

• Open a Command Prompt (Adimin) window: Win+X, A, Alt+Y
• Then run the following command to change your computer name to Donner: WMIC ComputerSystem where Name=COMPUTER-NAME call Rename Name=NewName
• Reboot your PC.
• Try to run ipconfig / all command, you should find that the Host Name in Windows IP Configuration list has been changed to the new name.
