Windows 10: Windows 11 language's basic typing won't finish downloading

There is a known issue that if you type Chinese characters in an English system environment, the word-searching bar would disappear while typing multiple Chinese characters in a row. This issue was never fixed and was very annoying. Today I tried to uninstall the Chinese language pack and wanted to do a reinstall, the language pack was downloaded just fine, but the basic typing was just stuck at the downloading phase and never goes to completion. I've been waited for more than 24 hours already.

Windows 8.1 update changed the language, can't change back

Maybe, these will help... it seems it is a common enough problem.

Language packs are no longer available after you upgrade to Windows 8.1

Change your Windows display language

• Tap or click Set as primary to move the language to the top of the list. If the language can become your Windows display language, you'll see Will be display language after next sign-in appear under the language.
• Sign out and then sign back in to finish.

Windows not installing basic typing

Please note that you will need to turn on proofing for OneNote. Kindly check if proofing is turned on. Here are steps to confirm that:

1. Open OneNote.
   
2. Click on … located towards top right hand side.
   
3. Then click on Settings and then on
   Options.
   
4. Now, you will be able to see
   Proofing.
   
5. Please turn it on and it should work fine.
   
   

If proofing is turn on, then you can follow the following troubleshooting steps:

Method 1: Remove the language pack and re-install it.

1. Open Windows Settings
   
2. Then click on Time & Language.
   
3. Then click on Region & language.
   
4. Click on the language you want to remove and then click on
   Remove.
   
5. Now re-install the language pack.
   

Method 2: If you are still not able to install basic typing feature for desired language, then try creating a new user account and install the language pack.

If you need further assistance, please write back with the following information:

1. Could you please confirm OneNote application you are using is downloaded from Microsoft Store or was installed it from Office package?
   
2. Are you connected to a domain network?
   
3. What is the version of Windows 10 that is installed on your computer?

Uninstalled a language, Basic Typing in "Manage Optional Features" still present.

Where did you get that error code and what is the complete error code/message that you get?

Meanwhile, try the below methods and check if this helps.

Method 1: Uninstalling Language Pack.

Before trying the below steps, install the Polish Language again and then follow the below steps.

• Click on the Start Menu > Search for Command Prompt >
  Right-click on Command Prompt > Click on Run As Administrator.
• Once the Command Prompt is up and running, type the following command and hit
  Enter.

Lpksetup /u

• Then, select the language > Click on Next to uninstall the Language Interface Pack.
• Restart the computer once after the uninstallation is completed and check if the Polish Typing is still present.

Method 2: System File Checker.

If the issue persists, then I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned in
Using System File Checker in Windows 10 and check for any system file corruption.

Once you check for the system file corruption, try the steps mentioned in my previous post and run those commands and check if it uninstalls the Polish Typing.
