Hello,I had this problem in another thread, it was solved by itself after a long while, but now I have the same problem again.I noticed in the router events that my Windows 11 24H2 PC/Laptop tries to contact an IP address, randomly e.g. after booting or during normal usage, and this problem occured after I mistakenly clicked/visited a certain website with VPN connection. My router blocks such strange IP addresses because I have set it to do so. As I said, the problem occured after I had visited this one dubious website just once and now it persists.The IP address is 178.236.186.2, the detail

I have a problem, namely I have activated the filters for Internet pages (Blacklist BPjM module) on my router (current FritzBox), and for a long time (many months) I have noticed in the router events that access to various IP addresses outgoing from my Windows 11 23H2/24H2 PC is blocked by the Blacklist Filter module.
This happens constantly and only from my Windows laptop, mostly during standby or normal usage. Other devices such as iPhones or Android devices never cause this.

What could be the reason for this?

The laptop is always up to date and clean. A reset with MCT Stick did not help either, even during setup or shortly afterwards these events related to the Windows 11 laptop happened again.

I noticed that your FritzBox router has enabled the filtering of Internet pages (blacklist BPjM module). For a long time, you have noticed in your router event logs that frequently IP addresses from Windows 11 23H2/24H2 laptops are being organized by the blacklist filter. This happens only on your Windows 11 laptop and not on cellular devices. Even after you reset your laptop this issue will still reoccur while you think your laptop is always clean and up to date.



The above is my understanding of your issue, please feel free to point out any inadequacies to me.



The possible cause of this is some third-party software or service, and I would first recommend a clean boot to eliminate any possible interference.



Perform a clean boot

The method is as follows

1. Tap Windows+R and type msconfig

2. Open System Configuration and select General tab - Selective Startup.

3. Remove the checkbox of Load startup items.

4. Go to the Services tab - click Hide all Microsoft services in the lower left corner, and then click Disable all.

5. Click OK and restart your computer. (Be sure to select Hide all Microsoft services first and then click Disable all, otherwise it may cause unforeseen problems such as not being able to access the system.)

See if the problem still recurs.



Disclaimer: Clean boot is a way to start Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if background programs are interfering with your games or programs and help you figure out the cause of the problem. It will help you get back on track.



If the problem persists after a clean start, you can try disabling the page filtering feature to see if the problem persists. It is possible that the router is causing the problem, and you may need to contact FritzBox support.

• Are you able to see the router's name in the wireless networks list?
• Are you able to connect to the router but unable to connect to the Internet?
• Do you receive any error message when connecting to the router? If yes, what is the exact error message that you receive?

In the meantime, we suggest that you run the Network troubleshooter. The Network troubleshooter can help diagnose and fix common connection problems. Kindly follow the steps below:

• In the search box on the taskbar, type Network troubleshooter, and then select
  Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
• Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.
