Windows 10: Windows 11 laptop previously worked on HDMI to monitor 2. Still shows it detects it, but...

Ok, so I do not often use the HDMI output to my 42" plasma monitor. Tried to connect over the weekend and got nothing displayed. I've tried all the usual recommendations , non work. I reloaded Windows using the upgrade in place iso. Rechecked and updated Windows again. Nothing works. The Plasma is shown in "settings" when it's plugged in so Windows sees it? If the cable is unplugged and reconnected to the PC the screen momentarily compresses like a screenshot was just taken. Again the usual recommendations were already checked, no solution.

Windows 11 Laptop not able to detect External Monitor LG24GN650

I am not able to detect my external monitor on windows 11 specifically. There is no physical connection issue as the monitor works when I connect it to another device operating on windows 10. There is also not any issue with my Windows 11 laptop's HDMI port as it works on other displays as well. It means the issue is specifically with the LG driver.

I have tried the following methods to solve the issue but was unsuccessful:

1. Updated intel and nvidia graphics driver
   
2. Updated Windows 11
   
3. Updated display driver from Device manager
   

As the monitor was not able to auto-detect I tried running the monitor driver exe file but it was showing error "Monitor is not LG manufactured"

 

new laptop, windows 11, 2 monitors via KVM switch, 2nd monitor not detected

I purchased a new laptop and the 2nd monitor is not being detected. I have an LG monitor and an ACER monitor and have determined that it is not related to the monitor, but the cable.

-using old laptop, windows 10, connected to LG and ACER with hdmi to hdmi and hdmi to hdmi to USB = works.

New laptop troubleshooting:

-cable from HDMI to HDMI works.

-cable from HDMI to HDMI to USB does not work.

-cable from HDMI to HDMI to USB-C does not work.

----- HDMI/USB-C adapter is used with my work laptop, Windows 10, which works.

This is what transpired switching cables

------ cable with adapter to LG doesn't work, but regular HDMI to HDMI works with ACER

------ switch and put cable with adapter to ACER instead, and ACER does not work, but then HDMI to HDMI to LG now works.

-Graphics card updated - didn't work

-refresh rate updated - didn't work

-force detect monitor - didn't work

-All system updates updated - didn't work

-restarted many times

-disconnected and reconnected everything - didn't work

-confirmed kvm + old laptop works

-confirmed kvm + work laptop works

-problem is kvm + new HP laptop via adapter (either to USB or USB-C) = 2nd monitor does NOT work. Only 1 monitor shows. Not the 2nd monitor.

-There is only 1 HDMI port on the laptop. 2 USBs and 1 USB-C

 

Windows 11 does not work with Monitor in Display Port, but HDMI ¿?

Thanks, but I've already followed that (obvious) steps...

It's curious:

- If I start the computer with 1 monitor using Hdmi cable, it works (shown windows 11 fine)

- If I start the computer with 2 monitors (1 using hdmi cable, 1 using display port cable), it works (shown windows 11 fine in dual screen)

- If I start the computer with 1 monitor using Display Port cable, it works until windows 11 loads... shown Bios/Post boot... but then black screen not showing windows 11. It's a Microsoft Windows matter. I do press Shift + Start + Ctrl + B (to reset 'graphics') the monitor does a 'flick' but continue without showing windows 11.
