Windows 10: Windows 11 laptop suddenly doesn't detect 2nd monitor

My HP laptop running Win11 has had 2 external Samsung monitors connected to it and it was working fine until today, when all of a sudden 1 of the monitors doesn't detect. They both are working, I have confirmed this by just plugging 1 into the computer at a time, and each monitor does show up - but not simultaneously. I have gone into Device Manager and checked if another monitor is showing under the Monitors dropdown, but only 1 is detected there. I have already tried to scan for hardware changes as well as uninstalling my display adapter and re-installing it again.Not sure what happened to m

Yes, that's exactly it. There is no indication anywhere that the 2nd monitor is detected.

Your suggestion about connecting the screen to another Windows 11 device intrigued me. I happen to have an Asus TUF Gaming F15 laptop which is running Windows 11. I connected the Waveshare screen to this using the USB for power and the HDMI for video and it was detected right away!

So my initial thoughts about this being a purely Windows 11 issue may be wrong. As the screen can be detected on the Windows 11 laptop. But not my newly built Windows 11 desktop.

So this does look like a hardware compatibility issue now.

 

HP pavillion laptop not detecting 2nd monitor with Windows 11 pro

I purchased a new HP Pavillion laptop with Windows 11 Pro and a new Acer monitor to connect to laptop. Laptop isn't detecting 2nd monitor via HDMI. I would appreciate any help you could provide.
