Windows 10: Windows 11 laptop turns on when I open the lid

Hello! I find this feature very inconvenient and I'd like to change it. After looking around on the internet, people advise to open the Power Options and change it there, but even though I can choose what my laptop does when I close the lid but there is nothing that could be changed for opening the lid. Another option was to change things in the BIOS but I'm not at all that comfortable with that as I'm just a regular user. How can I turn this off?

- What power option have you set when your laptops' lid is closed? have you set the power option to Sleep or Hibernate?


I Suggest you to check with the Power options. To go to power options, press Start, type Power Options into the search space and select the same from the list, and follow the below steps:


1.On the Select a power plan page, click Choose what closing the lid does.
2.On the Define power buttons and turn on password protection page, next to When I close the lid, choose what you want your laptop to do, both for when it's running on battery and when it's plugged in.
3.Click Save changes.

Inspiron 11 3000 2-1 laptop will not start when lid is opened

I have a Inspiron 11 3000 2in1 laptop that originally had Windows 8.1 but was upgraded to Window 10. Before this upgrade, when I opened my laptop, the computer would turn on automatically. Now since the upgrade, I have to hold the power button for about
5 seconds until the power light turns on then fades off without starting up. Then if I push the power button once more, then the computer will start. It takes a while for Windows 10 to start and I sometimes loose my curser, like I am in tablet mode. Any
suggestions on how I can get my computer to start when I open the lid?

 

Laptop Opening lid function

Ok so I just saw that the instruction is to just open the display of the laptop when you open the lid. So it means that the laptop is still turned on. And upon further research, there's no control within the operating system that will allow you to power
on a laptop when you open the lid. Come to think about it, the Windows 10 operating system is not running without turning on the laptop.
