this has been really frustrating since I have no idea what the problem is, or what I'm doing wrong, I've tried everything and nothing seems to work to get back to gigabit. however, somedays my PC just lifts the cap off of my internet and I can download using the full extent of my isp plan, its just baffling.

  2. windows 10/11 network speed is limited to 100Mbps

I have a windows 10 and windows 11, two windows machines. both are dell laptops, one is dell zhan 66, the other is dell G15 5520. while connected to my AP at home, even i download a file from a local server at home, the download speed is exactly about 12M. while it is like the network speed is restricted to 100Mbps. no matter wire or wireless connection.

The network at home has no issues. I can download the same file from same server at same location as my laptop, on my iphone, the speed can be up to 30MBps - 40MBps. the wired network at home is 1000Mbps.

Just guess are there any settings in the windows system that prevent the network? the network speed shows in the NIC is 1G for wire, and can be 1.9G for the wireless(wifi 6 supported).

Have found support from dell, but they only check the network settings, i think that's no related to the network settings. so guess there might be some other settings hidden in windows?

Sudden large disparity between download & upload speeds.

(First post: Win 10 1809) Hello. I have encountered what seems to me to be a strange phenomenon: Recently upgraded to "1000 Mbps" fiber internet provider. Initial speeds for both download and upload speeds spread across the 900's, with upload speeds consistently a bit higher than download speeds. Yesterday one desktop seemed to have internet connectivity issues. I noted that the desktops Ethernet connection had for some reason adopted the name of one of our wireless routers: What had been "Network 2" was now "(SSID) 2".

This Dell XPS desktop (Win 10 Pro 64b, Version 1809) has both wired and wireless network connections, with the later used to connect to various peripherals. When I checked into Speedtest.net, Download speeds remained in the 900's, but upload speeds dropped below 50 Mbps. I went though various network troubleshooting steps and a number of restarts, this disparity persisted. Other than the lack of a name change to wired network connection, this disparity was also obtained on another desktop on the same network. However, speed checks on iOS tablet reveled no disparity whatsoever, suggesting that the phenomenon is limited to Windows machines.

Given my naive and limited understanding of Windows networking, I was hoping someone might help me to better understand the issue and, perhaps, suggest a fix.
