Windows 10: Windows 11 Live Caption for phone calls

Has anyone used Windows 11’s Live Caption to make phone calls, and if so, how well did it work?My mom is hard of hearing and basically can’t hear anyone on phone calls. I am hoping that with Live Caption, she can make VoIP calls with Skype, WeChat, etc, and Live Caption could convert speech to text, and she can actually have a “conversation”. The wrinkle here is that she is Cantonese speaking, but I know that Live Caption is available in Cantonese. Thank you.

Live Captions in Windows 11

I am currently on Windows 11 Pro Version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.778).

I am having a problem with Live Captions feature in Accessibility. As it is specified elsewhere in "How to enable Live Captions?" Forums, I went to Live Captions settings to enable it but I don't have the toggle button to enable/disable Live Captions. I can only see the Live Captions customization settings.

 

Live captions - how to get with insider account?

Thanks Elise. I had actually checked for updates before joining the insider program and none were available, but since then the 22H2 update did show up - so I've completed that step, hoorah! But step two, enabling the captions, is not happening. The live captions option does now show up in 'accessibility' and I have turned it on, but then when it comes to downloading the captions I've been trying for 3 days now and I am just stuck with a box that says 'setting up live captions' with a a sliding blue line (whatever you call that - like download in progress, but it doesn't show where the download is at). I left it running the whole day and nothing is happening. I don't think it's my connection as it's working fine for other things. Any suggestions??
