I use mail to manage several accounts so its convenient to switch accounts using the vertical list on the left side. For some reason recently its changed so the 3 line button brings out the pane and it auto hides again, much less useful. Its behaving as if we don't have high resolution large screens and is limiting itself to a tiny window like functionality. Is there a way to fix this.

    :)

  2. Windows 11 Mail - Account Pane hidden

Up until a couple of weeks ago (to be honest probably when I upgraded to Windows 11 - but not 100% sure) when opening the Windows Mail app, the list of accounts was on the left, messages in the middle, and preview pane for selected message on the right.

Now for some reason the accounts pane doesn't stay 'open' when you click on a mail message the accounts pane hides and the preview pane for the mail appears. This is useless when you are running half a dozen mailboxes and need to see them all at the same time? It was working perfectly in the Win 10 version ? Has it changed, or have I got some kind of issue/setting/corruption ??

Windows 10 Mail - hiding the reading pane

    Hello MartinSouthin,

I'm Jin, a fellow Windows 10 user and an independent advisor. I can see that you want to hide the reading pane in Windows 10 Mail app.

Hiding or turning off the reading pane in Windows 10 Mail app is not possible. You can submit a suggestion or feedback about having this feature. Click the Gear icon in Mail app to open Settings > Feedback.

    Best regards.

how to effectively hide or disable the taskbar?

    Hi,

Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?

If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

    • Right click on Taskbar.
    • Click on Properties
    • Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
    • Click on OK.

    Hope this information helps.
