Windows 10: Windows 11 Mail App Yahoo Error Code 0x800c0004

I had to delete my yahoo mail account from the mail app, because it wasn't working properly. When I tried to re-install it, I would get the error code 0x800c0004. It looked like it was trying to open the yahoo mail login window when it errored out. Is there a different way to add yahoo to my mail app?

I went this route and added passwords for yahoo mail. I might try this method above to get gmail to buck up! *Tongue

YAHOO MAIL FIX
2FA needs to be enabled which it already was and just follow these steps below.

1. In yahoo mails account security, click on manage app passwords.




2. After selecting other app and entering the new app name in the text box




3. Now, in Windows 10 mail app, add this type of account.




4. In Windows 10 mail app, enter your details and the password generated by step 2.




Fully functional mail app again.



GMAIL FIX

Now similar steps to setting up Gmail. Here I'll only go through the Gmail steps as Windows Mail App setup is the exact same.

Yes, once 2-factor authentication is enabled you should then create the app specific password & enter it instead of the account password.

When using the mail app in:
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
OS Version: 10.0.18362 N/A Build 18362

I'm getting the error code:
error 0x8007042b

I've disabled anti-virus but that didn't work.

What I'm trying to do is:

1. Go to the settings (the cog wheel in the app)
2. Manage accounts
3. + add account
4. and choose Yahoo
5. this gives the error: error 0x8007042b

I've 4 other mail accounts so resetting the app I haven't tried. Any other way around this issue?
