  1. WIndows 11 Mapped drive randomly points to a different folder than originally mapped

    HiI have an odd drive mappiong issue and apparently random though I suspect its down to a cause and set of circumstances I havent figured out yetI have a NAS.I have mapped a root folder on that NAS to be my Z drive.Works perfectly.However sometimes when I start/bring back the laptop from a sleep/restart after updates/some other action as yet unidentified whilst the Z drive still exists, it is not the folder I originally mapped - it points to a sub folder tree from the root. I seem to recall a long time ago I had mapped that subfolder as the Z drive, then disconnected it, and then remapped

    :)

    Map Windows 7 Shared Folder to Win 95

    I am able to map the folder shared by the Windows 7 machine on my XP Pro machine without problem.
    I cannot get the Windows 95 machine to map the folder shared by the Windows 7 machine.
    The Windows 95 machine will map a drive shared by an XP machine just fine.

    Mapped Drives Issues

    To clarify .... the issue is the Windows 10 OS. It is with Windows File Explorer. The Mapped drives used to appear in File Explorer's left panel list of drives and folders. Two days ago File explorer stopped show the mapped drives. so not they don;t appear in the list of Drives and folders.

    - - - Updated - - -

    I did, it has no effect. I also check the NAS devices they support SMB 2.0. Also I have several other computers on my home network they work fine with the mapped drives and They do not have SMB 1 turned on. So it is something that happened to the computer in question.

    Windows 11 Pro cannot browse to a mapped drive using Add Printer wiard

    I'm hoping someone can assist.

    At my work, all of the printer network drivers are stored on a shared network drive.

    On Windows 10, the process was:

    1. map a drive on the PC where the network drivers are stored

    2. On the Windows PC, we go to:

    2. Control Panel -> Devices and Printers -> Add a printer -> The printer I want isn't listed

    3. -> Add a printer using an IP address or hostname, then click Next

    4. -> Select TCP/IP Device from drop-down list

    5. -> input the IP Address (ie 10.11.176.226), then click Next

    6. -> click "Have Disk" button

    7. -> click "Browse" button

    8. -> click the drop-down box and select the mapped drive

    9. -> navigate to the correct folder containing the network driver

    On Windows 11, the above process works until step #8. In step #8, the mapped drive is not listed.

    Windows Firewall is "on", but turning it "off" makes no difference.

    Network Discovery is "on", but it makes no difference.

    As a work-around, I must copy the folder containing the printer drive to the Windows 11 PC, complete all the steps to install the printer, then delete the folder from the PC.

    Can anyone assist on how to allow Windows 11 to browse to a mapped drive from the Add Printer wizard?
