Windows 10: Windows 11 maps, offline gps navigation works for a few minutes and stops.

My gps signal isnt interrupted all I do is close the maps app and reopen and It knows exactly where I am, I have also a background app logging gps live and it shows my wwan card is working. I have narrowed it down to the maps app acting up. any suggestions would be appriteated I cant use my laptop on the freeway lol or I would! windows 11 all updates are done dell lattitude 5410 with 5808e wwan card with GNSS

GPS Navigation device

Didn't really know how else i could call this topic, this should do i hope.

Back to question on hand - my dad bought a navigation (cheap one since in my country branded gps navigation devices cost way too much) and it is powered by Windows Embedded CE 6.0
At some point i decided to upgrade the navigation software/maps and was unable to as naviextras toolbox doesn't recognize my device at all, and to top it all it isn't even listed as a supported one.
Either way i managed to get new software/maps. The only question i wasn't able to resolve is how can configure windows embedded ce 6.0 ?

Lumia 920 Offline Maps

Hi, thanks for your replies



How could I see that the offline Maps are working in "real" offline mode in the specification?



The specification for the Nokia C5, which I currently use, says:



Navigation features and services

OVI Maps

Positioning features

• GPS
• A-GPS

If I want to use the C5 in "real" offline mode and the roaming turned on, I have to disable the A-GPS function, which uses the network.



In the Lumia 920 I can't see that the feature GPS is available, it says only A-GPS.



Could it be that only the maps are working in offlinemode but that you still need a network for the positioning to work?



I purchased a Lumia 900 and returned it after discovering that it didn't have the GPS function, this time I want the be sure before purchasing a Lumia 920.

 

GPS navigation for Windows

Seeing how there is no Tomtom for Windows and Garmin being discontinued. Is there any decent offline navigation suite for Windows?

Running a pocketPC emulator seems far from efficient, ie utilizing the screen and such. Installing Windows CE came up, though I'm not sure if it can run non-.NET applications written for pocketPC.
