Windows 10: Windows 11 Media Player can NOT play MPEG1/2 which only video

We found Windows 11 default Media Player can NOT play MPEG1/2 which only video and file size is smaller than 3M.We tried following MPEG1/2 data:1 MPEG1 data which has only video and file size is 2.54M. -> can NOT be play in Windows 11 default Media Player2 MPEG1 data which has only video and file size is 4.34M. -> OK, can be play.3 MPEG2 data which has video + audio and file size is 1.16M. -> OK, can be play.4 MPEG2 data which has only video and file size is 1.03M.we remove the audio from above 3 -> can NOT be play in Windows 11 default Media Play

What is the exact error message you get when you to try play files on Windows Media Player?

I suggest you to run both Windows Media Player Library and Settings troubleshooter and check.

Step 1: If your computer is having problems playing video or audio files in Windows Media Player, try using the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter to fix the problem. The troubleshooter checks the configuration and network settings
for Windows Media Player to make sure that you can play content you've downloaded and saved to your computer, or content streaming over a network or the Internet.

Steps to run Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter are as follows:

• Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
• In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click
  Troubleshooting.
• Click View all, and then click Windows Media Player Settings
  and follow the instructions.

Step 2: If your computer is having problems accessing your collection of digital media files in the Windows Media Player Library, try using the Windows Media Player Library troubleshooter to fix the problem. The troubleshooter makes sure
Windows Media Player is correctly installed on your computer, and checks to see whether your Player Library is corrupted.

Steps to run Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter are as follows:

• Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
  
• In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click
  Troubleshooting.
• Click View all, and then click Windows Media Player Library
  and follow the instructions.

Issues while playing videos through Windows media player. Only getting sound track while playing videos.

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Windows 10. I will certainly help you.

This issue might occur if there is change in sound settings or audio driver is corrupt.

To assist you better, please provided us the information below:

• Are you getting any error message playing the videos? Is the same issue occurring while playing Mp3 music?
• Is the issue specific while playing a particular video file extension?
• is the issue occurring only in Windows Media Player? Have you checked the issue with other video player?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to run Windows Media Player Library
and Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter. Check if it helps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Type “Troubleshooting” without the quotes and click on
Troubleshooting.

3. Then click on View All on the left panel of the Screen.

4. Click on Windows Media Player Library
and Windows Media Player Settings.

5. Click on Next and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.

Unable to play videos in Windows media player or any media player after windows 10 upgrade
