After ensuring Windows Media Player Legacy is installed from Settings -> System -> Optional Features -> More Windows Features, and adding all "Media Features" including "Windows Media Player Legacy App"And Media Streaming is on under Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Media Streaming OptionsThen for any devices on the network smart TV, Onkyo AVR, other Windows PCs via Windows Media Player, it only shows a small subset of artists, albums, songs. On the hosting Windows PC, all the songs appear in the Music Library. File structure is Music\Artist Names\Album Name\

Media Streaming DLNA no longer works after Anniversary edition upgrade

Hello,

Most of the DLNA servers can be fixed by reconfiguring it on your computer. So, I would suggest you to remove the DLNA servers from your computer and reconfigure it again to check if it resolves the issue.

If issue still persists, I suggest you to follow the steps below and check, if it helps:

• Go to system tray and click on network and sharing
• Select change advanced sharing settings at the left top of the screen
• At the bottom select All network
• Under media streaming, select choose media streaming option
• Under show devices on select customize from Xbox
• Uncheck the Use default settings and check mark make all of the media in my library available to this device

Windows Media Player - DLNA Server Issues

When did it start happening: After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10. None of these problems existed when I was on Windows 7. I had a DLNA server setup when I was using Windows 7 too.

Problem(s):

• When viewing the list of available DLNA servers on my smart TV I am getting two identical DLNA servers. One works and the other simply states there are no media files available.
• About once a month, Windows 10 will decide to shut off my DLNA server. That means I have to open up Windows Media Player, click Streaming, and Turn On...again.

I am sure number 2 is harder to resolve than number 1. Number 1 is probably just some registry entry that needs to be removed.

I also recomend tversity and or ps3 media server. as for services ill try to remember what i needed to enable for DLNA but for one make sure SSDP discovery services is started and automatic. tcp/ip netbios helper, UPnP device host, windows media player network sharing, (also make sure what you want to share is recognized by the media library and that the media player is set to share.
