Windows 10: Windows 11 mic recording speaking voice but not musical instruments.

I have found a problem in WIndows 11 with the recording functionality of the mic. When I am on Skype teaching a music lesson, the student can hear my voice, but cannot hear a music instrument such as a guitar or violin. The same problem occurs with Zoom, and also occurs when I try to use a recording program such as Audacity. The recording software will not record a musical instrument of any kind, only speaking voice. This problem did not occur on the same computer with Windows 10, only Windows 11. Voice/Musical Instrument Recording with backing track

Hi,

I am an amateur musician. I want to record music played on Harmonica along with a backing track played in the background. Probably this is called overdubbing. So can I do this with Voice Recorder. The final recorded music should play both ..the harmonica
music and the backing track in sync.

Is this possible in Voice Recorder or any other app in Windows 10? If so please give the steps to be followed.

Mic has selective hearing.

Mic will record voices well during videos but not musical instruments. It fades instruments out and makes voices more audible than the instrument. Almost like its trying to treat it like back ground noise.

 

Unable to record music on the mic, only picks up voice. Windows 10

Hi, hope someone can help urgently! All of a sudden when I record music I play, the mic no longer picks up my music; however it picks up my voice well. I tested with playing a song and trying to record, it picks up only the voice again and not the music, except stronger beats. This is the same whether I use the computer mic or my Blue Yeti. I reformatted Windows (Windows 10), no difference at all. Any insights?
