Windows 10: Windows 11 Microphone stops working when lauching video games or joining online lobbies...

Hello!Ever since upgrading to Widows 11, this curious issue has come up for me with my HyperX Cloud 2. Whenever I launch certain games Counter-Strike, Forza Motorsport recently my microphone will stop working in places such as Discord, TeamSpeak and even the Windows preview itself. With the new release of Forza Motorsport there have even been new issues where every time I do try to join an online race, the microphone stops working, which I assume would be because you join a voice chat, even though my microphone has been turned off in the options.This issue is very annoying as most of the tim

Sennheiser GSP 350. Microphone stops working when I open any game

Wow, ok. I think I've fixed it by accident while fiddling around.

It appears to be the Realtek audio being the issue here. I don't use my onboard sound card as my headset is a USB headset only and my speakers are plugged into an ASUS sound card.

Step by step fix:

• I went into recording devices
• I enabled STEREO MIX (Realtek High Definition Audio)
• Then I set that Stereo Mix as the DEFAULT DEVICE (At this point it took over both input and output devices without my permission )
• Then set my Sennheiser headset as default recording and playback devices in their respective windows even though they both still said they were the default devices when they weren't

Headset microphone is currently functioning while in game now. I'll update the thread if it goes again. Should I completely disable Realtek audio??? Or will windows just force it to work again?

Method 3: Uninstall and reinstall the microphone driver.

• Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  
• On the run command box, type devmgmt.msc and hit
  Enter.
  
• Expand Sound, video and game controller.
  
• Right-click the microphone driver, and then click Uninstall.
  
• Restart your computer. The driver will automatically reinstall after the restart.

Note: If the microphone driver is not located under Sound, video, and game controller, then you may consider checking it under
Audio Inputs and Outputs.

If the issue persists, I suggest that you install the latest microphone driver. You can check your computer manufacturer's website for the updated driver or ask assistance from their support team in installing the right driver for your device.
