Windows 10: Windows 11 Multiple nested Documents and OneDrive folders

I recently updated to Windows 11 from Windows 10. All seemed fine until today when the system asked me to log in to OneDrive. I did this and it asked if I wanted to backup my Documents, Desktop and Pictures which seemed like a good idea even though I don't use these folders. The system then asked for a file location. I keep my data on the D drive so pointed to the existing OneDrive folder there.I now seem to have my OneDrive folder which contains a Documents folder, which contains a OneDrive folder which contains a Documents folder, which contains a OneDrive folder which contains a Documents

Why I have TWO Documents folders?

ok so lemme start off my saying i recently wiped my system and installed windows 10
and i noticed even more recently that i seem to have TWO documents folders...
i have one that has nothing that it should in it and the other somehow is linked to Onedrive...
the onedrive linked one has everything that the non onedrive should. (game saves, etc)
my question is...why? is this normal cause i can't imagine it is...
i don't think steam game save cloud will work with onedrive so i need to know, is this fixable WITHOUT another wipe? i have no idea how my onedrive got synced with my documents folder. i didn't set it up that way. any help is appreciated!

Multiple 'Documents' folders under 'This PC'

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

This may happen if one the “documents” folder has been stored on different target location.

Follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1

I suggest that you check both the folders location where they are saved using the below method:

• 
  Right-click on any one documents folder and then click Properties.
  
• 
  Click the Location tab, click Restore Default, and then click Apply and OK.
  
• 
  Check what happens, try these step on all the documents folder.
  

Method 2

If the above step fails then try checking the target location of both the folders by using the find target option:

• 
  Right-click on any one documents folder and then click Properties.
  
• 
  Click the Location tab, click Find target.
  
• 
  Check where the target location of both the folders is and check if any one goes to the user name location and later delete the one which goes to wrong location.

Multiple 'Documents' folders under 'This PC'

I am getting multiple appearances of the 'Documents' folder under 'This PC'. Win 10 Pro 64 bit. Location of Document folder has been moved to Documents in OneDrive. Sometimes I get 7 or 8 appearances of the same folder. Any suggestions on how to just have
one?
