Windows 10: Windows 11 - My UPDATE button in Settings is *gone*. I have tried many fixes to recreate...

so - when i type 'update' in the search bar or 'check for updates' or anything else- it takes me to settings. But the UPDATE button is no longer there. see below.Also - when i click 'updates need attention' button NOTHING happens.I have tried several fixes ive found online to recreate the windows update services, ive restored toi early restore point, nothing working. the services are there, they are running - but no iconhelp!

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

 

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

No screenshot of yours looks like mine. No, my system has not been checked for W11 compatibility as the screenshot imply. The screenshot offers me to do (like the very first step). "Hardwareanforderungen prüfen" (= "Check for Hardware requirements") When I click the URL, the page https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/windows/windows-11 will be loaded.
Your screenshots are like the next step, that HW already checked.

Of course I don't want my HW to be checked and maybe it doesn't do in background, because I use Enterprise with disabled Telemetry etc.

I have tested the target Feature Update policy and can confirm. After set, the Windows 11 Ad is gone.
But this will lock my Windows 10 to a specific target Feature version, as the policy is made for. As we already know, a 22H2 is comming for Windows 10. Maybe 23H2...

I was curious, I blocked again settings-win.data.microsoft.com, rebooted, reverted the policy and the Windows 11 Ad recovered. Conclusion = Windows hide the information, but it's still there. No problem of course.

Also I tried to enter "Windows 10" in Windows product and leave Target Version empty, so that I get all future Windows 10 feature updates and don't get a Windows 11 Ad.
Unfortunately, that doesn't work. I need to enter a Target Version.
