Windows 10: Windows 11 Network keeps reverting to Public

I see that this has been repeatedly brought up, repeatedly given haphazard response that DON'T permanently fix the issue, as is typical of these useless boards when companies, staffed by self-important, incompetent, entitled, lazy Tech Bro imbeciles, and then comments turned off, because heaven forbid the developers responsible for yet ANOTHER bug caused by their failure to test updates BEFORE releasing, but it is EXTREMELY annoying to have to REPEATEDLY set my local network back to Private because some idiots didn't test their build before release and somehow, due to their lack of practical k

Windows 10 v1709 switches from Private to Public network

Hi Bruce,

It is possible that there is an issue with the network profiles of the computer and that can be the reason why the network always switches to Public network. We recommend that you delete all known network profiles to resolve the issue. To do this, follow
these steps:

• Open command prompt as administrator.
• In the command prompt window, type netsh wlan show profiles
  and press Enter.
• Type netsh wlan delete profile name=[ProfileName] and press Enter.
• Repeat the third step for the rest of network profiles you've seen after running the command in the second step.
• Check if the network will still switch to Public.

Windows 10 default home network to Unidentified Public network

Hi Jessen,

Thanks for your reply....I have checked and V4 which it came with is the First firmware release of TD-W8968 V4. and there is no update.

With the network troubleshooter....it cant find any problem other than suggest setting it back to Home Network from Public, which does not solve the problem why it keeps reverting back to Public Network on startup?

The first time you connect to a network, you must choose a network location. This automatically sets the firewall and security settings the type of network you connect to.
