Windows 10: Windows 11 - network printer installation issue

Hi, we have two Windows 2019 print servers. An "old" and a "new". They both run the same OS version and are built from the same VM template. Our Win11 client build can install shared printers without issue from the "old" print server. However, the same Win11 client cannot install printers from the "new" print server. It's the common error I have seen before in various situations..."Windows couldn't connect to the printer. Check the printer name and try again... blah blah blah".I can actually get the printers to install by making the below changes on the Win 11 client PC, but I would very much

Windows 11 Add Printer not working for shared network printer

Hi,

I have just installed windows 11 after some intrepidation i am delighted with windows 11. So far all is working perfectly. Except one issue. we have a shared network printer connected to another PC. when i go to "Add a device" selecting add manually add a network discoverable printer. The printer shows up in the list. Select the printer then next a get "Windows dosen't have a network profile for this device" i have the latest updates and the network profile i have tried private and public, same result.

Any suggestions appreciated.

  winver in Windows search/Run command)

Networking a USB printer in Windows 10

• What is the make and model of the printer?
