Windows 10: Windows 11 new product key not working

Hello,I recently bought Windows 11 ARM and tried to install it on a virtual machine in UTM on my M3 Macbook Air.The first time, it worked, but then for some reason the VM didn't save when I shut it down after installation. Now when I go to try and install again, it says "this product key didn't work." I'm assuming that's because it thinks the product key was already used for a previous installation? How do I fix this? ThanksEdit: I also don't seem to have received the product key in an email anywhere. I screenshotted it so I know what it is, but after clicking "redeem" on the Microsoft store

Reactivating Windows 11 after retrieving the motherboard key involves using the original product key or digital license associated with your system.

Here are the steps to reactivate Windows 11:

1. Open Settings:
   
   • Click on the Start button and select the gear icon to open "Settings."
     
2. Navigate to Update & Security:
   
   • In the Settings menu, click on "Update & Security."
     
3. Go to Activation:
   
   • In the left sidebar, select "Activation."
     
4. Enter Product Key:
   
   • If you have a product key, click on "Change product key" and enter the key when prompted.
     
5. Use Digital License:
   
   • If your Windows 11 was linked to your Microsoft account, you might see an option to troubleshoot and link your digital license. Click on this option and follow the prompts.
     
6. Restart Your Computer:
   
   • After entering the product key or linking your digital license, restart your computer.
     
7. Verification:
   
   • Go back to the Activation section in Settings to verify that Windows 11 is now activated.
     

 

Windows 11 OS Product key not working

Hi,

I had a parallel desktop on my 2017 mac. I purchased a copy of windows 11 home and it worked fine on the parallel.

I have purchased a new Mac M3Pro. I deactivated the windows product key on the old parallel via the cmd prompt as suggested online. I got all the correct notification onscreen to say it was deactivated and it also showed as deactivated in settings. I then removed the paralle from the old mac.

On the new Mac, I installed parallels, signed in and applied the parallel product key, this worked fine. However, now with i try to use the windows product key to activate windows it won't work.

I'm very frustrated and there is nowhere to speak with someone from microsoft for support.

Convert a Windows 8pro product key to a Windows 10pro produkt key

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

I suggest you to Uninstall the license using the following steps.

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (Admin)
• At the command prompt, type: slmgr.vbs -upk
• Press Enter, this will uninstall the product key from the computer.

Further on, install Windows 8.1 activate the copy with the product key on the new machine. Then again upgrade the same to Windows 10 using Window Update or Media Creation Tool.
