after spending hundereds of hours finding fotos for files, finding CD Covers for my MP3 Folders, and DVD covers for my MP4 files, Windows have decided that the pictures do not need to be seen. all Q-A on forums are for windows 10. now I have windows 11. and no CD covers. Help please=

Photo Icons in the Picture Folders

Hi,

Misconfigured view settings is on of the usual reasons why it is not displaying the actual photo. We suggest checking the settings of your folder to make sure it show the icons, instead of the thumbnail. Kindly follow the steps below to check it:

• Open Picture folder.
• Choose View tab at the top, then click the (Square icon) Options as shown on the picture below:
  
  
• Click View tab, put a check mark on the box beside the
  Always show icons, never thumbnails. See picture below:
  
  
  
• Close the folder, and check if you will be able to see the display picture for each icon.

Photo Icons in the Picture Folders

Does anyone know why I have some pictures folders that will not display the actual photo on the icons? These icons will only allow me to open 1 picture at a time. Normally when you open a picture folder and then select a picture icon you can just scroll
from one picture to the next. I have to open each picture individually to see what it is.

I do have some picture folders that the icons appear with the pictures displayed, and then other folders that have the white icon with blue mountain scene. These are the ones that I have to open up individually. I did just notice these folders are compressed.
Does that impact the icons?

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.
