  1. Windows 11 not allowing me to play games or showing any of my external SSDS

I decided to upgrade to windows 11 about 2 months ago and now whenever i try to open any game it fails and afterwards my SSDS don't show up anymore and it's showing the games are no longer installed until i restart my pc. on steamalso sometimes when i open file explorer i can only see the home tab but it never loads anything.I've already tried a virus scan with windows defender and that didn't work.i'm currently installing a update while i make this post so i hope that helps.

I found out being able to use a external SSD device to download and then be able to play the new games

    hello Jaspreet Singh,

I went to a SSD site that sells the ssd external drives and this is what he typed back to me about being able to download and then play the game from the ssd external drive. He said, Concerning the games, again this depends on the game or game client in question, some may not allow to run from removable storage devices. The game or game client publisher should be able to answer that for you. So Now how do i ask steam or epic games or windows games if i can use a ssd drive to download and then play games from ssd external drive? Or how do i find on each game web site if they allow me to use a ssd external drive?

thanks for any ideas how to find out if i can use the SSD on each game site i go to.

  3. Windows 11 File Explorer not showing external drive

If Windows 11 File Explorer is not showing an external drive that is connected to your device, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check the connection: Make sure that the external drive is properly connected to your device. Try unplugging and replugging the drive, or connecting it to a different USB port.
    2. Check Disk Management: Open Disk Management by pressing Windows key + X, then selecting Disk Management. Look for the external drive in the list of drives. If it appears but has no drive letter assigned, right-click on it and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths". Assign a drive letter to the external drive, and then check if it appears in File Explorer.
    3. Update drivers: Make sure that your device's drivers are up to date, particularly the drivers for your USB ports. Use the Device Manager to check for any outdated or malfunctioning drivers, and update or reinstall them as needed.
    4. Check power supply: If the external drive requires a separate power supply, make sure it is properly connected and functioning.
    5. Test on another device: Try connecting the external drive to another device to see if it appears in File Explorer. This will help determine if the issue is with the drive itself or your device.
By following these steps, you may be able to resolve the issue of Windows 11 File Explorer not showing an external drive.
