Windows 10: Windows 11 not allowing pin to sign in, shift + restart won't bring up safe boot

I'm having an issue with my computer giving me the screen that says my PIN is unavailable to use. I don't have the option to sign in another way, and when I hold shift and press restart, it doesn't send me to the safe boot menu. I don't know how else to sign into windows and I haven't seen others online with my same issue.

can,t sign in with password on my laptop

i checked for updates this morning and all their was was a security update,after it updated successfully i did a restart , now when my login screen comes up i don,t have the option to put in my password, it just ask for a pin number which i have but when i try to use the shift key to start to put in my pin it won,t put in the # sign. when i get on the internet by going through reset pin which i cancel, i can use the shift key then to put the # sign in.

My computer is in a contiuous loop requiring a pin ti sign in then my pin is no longer available set up new pin. Back to start. Also rebooting in safe mode from boot does not work

I have tried holdingshift and restart but it wont restart with shift held.

I have tried starting in safe mode from boot. Ie turn on then off imediaky the computer starts twice then allowing boot

Back to the same loop.

 

Windows 10 Safe Mode PIN Failure

Thank you Isha. I tried your safe mode suggestion WITH networking. It still did not work.

But I got round it by removing the PIN
even though Cortana does not work. Here is how:

1. Right-click on desktop

2. click on Personolise

3. in the blue search bar type Sign-in to get the sign-in option

4. click on Sign-in options

5. under the PIN section click on Remove

6. type in the user password (not PIN)

The PIN is now removed. This would now allow signing into windows in the Safe Mode, etc.

N.B. you could also go to the next step (step 7) and remove the account password all together if required.
