Windows 10: Windows 11 not directing to default locations

The best way I can describe this problem is by giving an example:I download programs from Chrome or any browser, and click on the `downloads' folder in the browser. Instead of automatically going straight to the Windows `Downloads' location in File Explorer, it just briefly flashes `Downloads' location for just a second before going straight back to File Explorer Desktop? It's the same if I search for file or photo. It will briefly show the location before flicking back to the Desktop??Any help of suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.Many thanks in advance.

Windows 11- Cannot change default save location-

In windows 11 I am trying change the default save location from the c drive. When i go to the settings the only drive listed is the c drive. Im trying to designate a different default save location. If i need to set up another drive please indicate it.

Directing data to a second drive ?

To direct data to a second drive I thought you opened File Explorer > This PC > then right clicked (for example) Music > Properties and changed the Location.

However I can also open File Explorer > This PC > then left click Documents which displays Music along with other the folders.
1) If I right click the Documents folder & change the Location, will that also change the Music & other folders listed within Documents?
2) Why are the Music & other folders listed in Documents when they are already listed under This PC?
File Explorer also shows Music under Quick Access. That’s 3 occurrences I’m looking at. Does it make a difference which one I use to change the Location?

Recently I came across this method which looks like it does the same thing, but does it?

Some online comments suggested creating a separate folder for each user account and make the new folders as subfolders of the user account folder. I am the only user. Is there some advantage of creating a user folder?

I've never used a second drive for storage & any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can I Change My Default Desktop Location??

Hello Lucas,

You may change the default location for the desktop and library folders on Windows 10.

To change the default location of the folders, please follow these steps:

• Click Start, type This PC and press
  Enter.
• Right-click the Desktop folder and select Properties.
• Go to Location tab and click Move.
• Find the new location for the Desktop folder and click
  Select Folder.
• Click OK to finish.

The steps must be done on each of the library folders.
