Windows 10: Windows 11 Not Restarting Overnight to Install Windows Updates/ Sleep Mode?

Hi All,New computer, Active Hours are from 7am-1am. I put my PC to sleep outside of Active Hours when updates are in the query. The problem is the laptop has not restarted outside of Active Hours when I I wake up in the morning. Can closing the lid, sleep mode be a cause of this? Is it better to just leave the lid open and walk away when updates are in the query? after Active Hours?I also have a Windows 10 desktop, and that machine can also take 3-5 days to restart overnight outside of Active Hours with updates in the query, as well.Jack

Windows 7 sleep mode shutsdown

Just a quick update: Windows no longer reverts back to the BIOS after sleep mode. I used CCleaner to fix the registry and that did the trick

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Pc restart after exiting sleep mode

well if it works within 5min, sounds like it could be losing power

'restarts after exiting sleep mode' do you mean it acts like a fresh cold boot? or you see the windows logging off screens, then it restarts?

i never use sleep or hibernate, risk of losing the session & waste of hard drive space
