Windows 10: Windows 11 not sleeping

I have had Windows 11 for some while now and up until a couple or three weeks ago the computer would sleep as per my settings.Since then I believe an update was made to the OS and my computer will not sleep."Powercfg requests" shows nothing is keeping it awake.I have read several posts that advise to go into all sorts of amendments to the system, which I am reluctant to do.Is this a programming error where Microsoft insert a line to stop the computer sleeping whilst downloading the latest update, and failing to remove that instruction when the download and installation is complete?

This may happen due to its power plan. A power plan is a collection of hardware and system settings that manages how computers use and conserve power. For this, we suggest that you reset and restore power plans to its default. kindly follow these steps:

• Open the Command Prompt (Admin).
• Copy and paste the command below into the command prompt, and press
  Enter:
  • powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
• Close the Command Prompt window, and then restart your PC to apply the changes.

After that, go to Power & sleep settings
by typing it into the Windows Search. Check the When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after
settings is set to Never.

Windows 11 does not go to sleep

My Windows 11 desktop does not turn off the screen after the specified time. It also does not go into sleep mode after the specified time. I have tried all the steps suggested in this thread and still not good. I do not have any joy stick or anything like that attached. It used to work that a few months ago it quit. The only thing that happened was routine Windows updates.

• In the left navigation pane, click on Power & sleep.
• In the right pane, select the time limit for the system to go to sleep from the drop down list.
