Windows 10: Windows 11 Notepad cannot open any files on network drive

When I try to access a network file with Notepad I get the message "Cannot find the Z:\filename.file".All other applications have full access to all files / folders.Notepad has no issues accessing files / folders on the local C: drive.I tried opening Notepad and then file - open. It can see the Z: drive and all files and folders but still can't open any file.I did a complete factory restore wiping all data and it has the same results.

Notepad will not open in Windows 11

I have a brand new Windows 11 HP laptop. I need to transfer some information from my old laptop that was stored in Notepad. When I go to open the file, nothing happens. I can not open Notepad at all. I have completed the below steps and it still will not work.

1: Reset application

2: Repaired application

3: Removed and reinstalled

I have also followed at the step provided in the community and the steps provided in one of the posts that link to this page: How to Fix Notepad Not Opening on Windows 11.

Nothing has worked.
Please tell me how to fix this.
