Windows 10: Windows 11 notepad

I honestly can not believe Microsoft could screw something as basic as notebook up but they have done just that. I have used notepad for decades with no problem and all of a sudden with this release when you close the window you must manually save the changes, ok I got used to that but then today out of the blue I saved and closed a notebook file but then a new different popup I have never seen before SAVE, DONT SAVE or CANCEL but it is making me click through every notebook file on my computer, literally 1000s of .txt files. WHY? WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO THIS?

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below:

• Open Task Manager. Here’s a tip: press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
• Click on Startup tab.
• Select Notepad from the list and click on Disable.

Old Notepad win 11

Thank you for your speedy reply. I went through the steps as advised and .txt is not listed in file type, it lists .tts and the next one is .txz. Also there is no notepad listed in link type.

 

Notepad on Windows 7\

Suggestion would be uninstall then new install on Win7. Maybe an older version would work better? A list, maybe Version 7?
