Windows 10: Windows 11 on an Dell Laptop Ignoring Power Options

After performing a fresh install to Windows 11, updating drivers and completing all Windows updates. When the System > Power & Battery > Screen and Sleep settings are modified for both battery power and plugged in settings to 3 hours before the "turn off my screen" event occurs. Yet, after 1 minute of inactivity, the computer screen dims and then logs you off --only occurs when the laptop lid is open. I have also checked the Bluetooth auto logoff feature is not enabled, which it is not. However, if you plug a monitor into the laptop and close the laptop lid this does not occur,

USB settings in Power Plan Options on Windows 10 is missing, how to restore it?

As per the below suggested steps I am trying to disable the USB in USB selective suspend setting in my Dell laptop with Windows 10 Home. however, I do not find the USB Settings at all in two modes Balanced mode or Dell (Active) mode under change advanced
power settings. How to restore it?

USB Selective Suspend Settings, follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows + X.
2. Choose Power Options.
3. Select Choose when to turn off the display.
4. Open Change advanced power settings.
5. Expand USB settings and USB selective suspend setting.
6. Select Enabled (default) or Disabled.
7. Click Apply, then OK.

 

Power Settings Ignored by Lenovo Yoga 400 laptop

• Did you make any changes to your computer? I dont know.. what kind of changes are you talking about. I only added software.. like Norton Security and a few free MSFT apps.
• Which Build are you currently in? I dont know..probably the latest one. How do i determine "the build"?? I always update windows and pretty sure this is up to date here.
• Which troubleshooting steps did you try? Tried everything that was suggested,..power troubleshooter, update graphics card, set power settings to default, and other things.. nothing worked. Has been a problem for many months.
  How do i do this clean boot? I will need instructions for these things..step by step. i am tired of this machine ignoring the power settings. Need this fixed.

 

Power option settings being ignored

Hi,

Windows 10 x64 on Dell XPS desktop.

I upgraded my desktop from 8 to 10 several months ago.

Only very recently (I think due to a windows update or me playing with the power options) it has started ignoring the sleep timer (set for 5 hours) and going to sleep after a couple of minutes of inactivity.

This stuffs up anything I have that is long running (e.g file transfers, backups, etc.).

I seen the other thread but that is full of people having issues after just upgrading and with laptops.

I also see that Microsoft been unable to help these people other than suggest doing a windows system restore!

Any advice / experience would be gratefully received.
