  2. Windows 11 thinks my desktop is a laptop

Thanks for your response. I found out what the problem was. I have a server grade UPS, and Windows 11 had installed is as a battery UPS in device manager. The presence of a 'battery' made the rest of the system think that I am using a laptop. I disabled the driver for my UPS and now I Windows recognizes the machine as a desktop :/

Strange problem. Keeps me from monitoring power now. Not happy with this, but maybe the fault lies with the UPS drivers.

  3. Windows 11 thinks my desktop is a laptop

    Hi,

Windows 11 is convinced that my desktop computer is a laptop, and that it isn't plugged in. This prevents me from turning on HDR and other important performance features. How do I change things so it understands that it is a desktop and is always plugged in? Please let me know if there is additional information that you need to help answer this question. Thanks very much.

Thinking about Going back to Win8.1

If want to disable IE, still can. However, can't uninstall it like were able to in XP/98/whatever.
Here's how, although I find it useful in case Chrome or Firefox stops working and have to re-download it. *Wink
    1. Search for turn windows features on or off and click it in the search results.

    2. When the app opens, uncheck Internet Explorer 11.
