Windows 10: Windows 11 on unsupported device

Can I install Windows 11 on my laptop Dell Vostro 2520, 4 GB RAM and 500 GB HDD, currently not supported and will I get Security as like my current Windows 10?

Risks of installing windows 11 on unsupported devices?

So as far as I can tell Microsoft says don't install Win11 on unsupported devices because you will not receive updates? But my 10-year-old laptop with Win11 is still receiving Security and cumulative updates?

What updates are we getting on Win10 that we are not getting on Win11? I am just trying to understand, the difference in updates we receive on both Operating systems. From what I understand older devices are abandoned by their manufacturers anyways so receiving firmware updates etc from the manufacturer is a no-go.

What risks are people be taking for installing on unsupported devices? For example, if there was a vulnerability on Windows 10 on my old device won't I still be vulnerable on windows 11 and if it was patched on windows 10 I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't patched on windows 11 since the operating system is extremely similar?

Your 5th Gen processor is not on the list, and it is unlikely they will add it because there is no 6th gen processors listed and only a couple of 7th gen processors made the list.

Microsoft were testing and adding some more processors, and did add some to the list, they indicate they have now completed testing, and no more processors will be added to the official list.

It is possible to install Windows 11 on an unsupported processor using the Windows 11 ISO, I have Windows 11 installed on an unsupported Core i7 7700HQ processor and Windows 11 runs very smoothly, however Microsoft advise you do not do that, they will not be liable for any problems caused by doing that and also you would not receive Windows 11 updates, however, everyone that has installed Windows 11 on an unsupported processor is still receiving updates.

Another option would be to contact your PC manufacturer to see if that processor can be upgraded.
